Client: Queensland Health
Project: Southport Health Carpark
Duration: Mar 2015 – Sep 2015
Project Value: $590,000
Project Details: This project involved the construction of two car parks for Southport Health. Prior to construction commencing Main was required to undertake demolition of two houses which currently occupied the land. One house was one story and the other was a two story dwelling. Asbestos testing had been undertaken and asbestos was detected on site. Asbestos removal was undertaken by an appointed licensed sub-contractor. Following the removal of all asbestos from site and the receipt of associated documentation Main Constructions undertook the demolition of the remaining structures. Demolition was undertaken utilising a combination of plant, hand tools and equipment. Materials were sorted and loaded and removed from site as appropriate. Where possible materials were recycled and all other materials disposed of at a registered disposal centre. Upon completion of demolition works, clearing and grubbing of the site was undertaken to allow for construction works to begin. Works included installation of stormwater, sub base preparation, asphalt works, kerb and channel, line marking, fencing and gates and signage.
Well the New Year is in full swing and with it has come plenty of rain. The rain is fantastic for all the new turf that has been laid at Nudgee College and Les Hughes Sports Complex. These projects are both coming into the final stages of construction whilst construction at Griffin Sports Facility is ramping up despite the recent weather. We have also been awarded two new projects in the new year. One is Sports field lighting upgrades at 3 locations within the Moreton Bay Regional Council area and the second is goal upgrades to various sites for Redland City Council whom we are excited to be working with again.
